8pm – Modern Monsters w/ Lender, Weapons of Mass Creation & Stimuli

Saturday,December 15, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 2:00 am

Bay Area Rock bands Modern MonstersSTIMULI and Lender are joined by Reno, NV’s Weapons of Mass Creation.

Modern Monsters were formed in the Bay Area in 2017. They are a hard-hitting, socially-conscious rock and roll band primary inspired by alternative and experimental rock, hip-hop, soul, and grunge. Featured in the Bay Area’s Bay Bridged, KRCB Radio, Mutiny Radio, KWMR’s “Rock of Ages,” Indie Music Press, and Rockstardreams.com.

Lender is a trio of SF Bay Area natives who started playing music together in high school. Their original sound drew largely on classic rock and jam band influences, then began to mix in a wide range of modern and alternative inspirations. The result is a unique blend of styles ranging from heavy psychedelic walls of sound, to soft melodic grooves, to floor pounding funk. Along with a strong rhythm section and catchy guitar riffs, you can always expect interesting lyrics and carefully crafted vocal harmonies. They’ve been called a mixture of Beck, The Grateful Dead and Radiohead, among many other influences. However it is immediately apparent Lender has created a sound that is all their own.

The heavy, tight and polished sound of STIMULI has been compared to Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Tool, Rush, and Nirvana. The individual and collective history of the band is just as varied and multi-faceted as their music. Comprised of seasoned musicians from around the world (drummer Cole Andrew is from Australia), STIMULI is a collage of three very strong-willed personalities who, like most productive collaborations, happen to have chemistry and work well together.

WMC are known for their explosive live shows and for being part of the Potentialist Art Movement. Our mission is to bring thought provoking music and words to the people, to try and change the way we all think about what’s going on around us, and to speak for those whose voices are ignored by society.
